OSCE Academy Master of Arts Scholarship Programme

Apply for the OSCE Academy Master of Arts Scholarship Programme for the 2024 academic year. The OSCE invites you to apply for OSCE Academy Master of Arts Scholarship, for MA in Politics and Security Programme (Central Asia), Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Human Rights and Sustainability and MA in Economic Governance and Development Programme. The OSCE Academy in Bishkek as a public foundation, was established in 2002 by the Kyrgyz Government and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

OSCE Academy promotes offers several MA Programmes in the following fields.

  • Economic Governance and Development
  • Politics and Security (Central Asia)
  • Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Human Rights and Sustainability

Admission to one of these programmes is done on a highly competitive basis with up to 60 students admitted to the programmes each year. These are two year postgraduate degree programmes that are specially tailored for young professionals who wish to broaden their education in the areas of politics, security, international relations, conflict prevention, international development, economics and governance.

Admitted students will, along with their main degree studies, participate in the compulsory preparatory Summer school that usually runs from August 7 to August 30 of each academic year. This programme is specially dedicated to students from several selected countries from Central Asia and other participating states of OSCE.

Student will receive full scholarships to attend the courses for the entire duration of the study programmes

  • You will receive a Full tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the course you are admitted to.
  • Students will receive a monthly stipend worth of 460 euros to cater for their daily expenses.
  • You will get facilitation for a round trip travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
  • All students will be eligible for Medical insurance during their stay in Kyrgyzstan
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in various funded internship opportunities in Finland and Norway

Eligibility


If you fulfill the following conditions, then you are eligible for the scholarship:

  • You must have successful completed a relevant BA, MA, Specialist Diploma in a field related to one of the programmes
  • Applicants must be citizens of one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
  • The organization has reserved a number of scholarships to students from other OSCE participating States can be accepted to the programmes
  • You must also have proof of sufficient English language proficiency if you are to be selected

Application


Interested applicants, who meet the eligibility criteria are advised to submit their applications for admission by the deadline of January 31, 2024. Applications for admission are submitted online using the dedicated application portal. You will need to create an account before you can initiate and complete you application.

To complete your application, you will be required to submit the following support documents

  • Applicants must submit their most recent grade results in form of Diplomas, Degrees, Certificates and Transcripts of records
  • If you have not yet completed a relevant required degree by the deadline of application, you may also apply.
  • Submit proof of English language proficiency
  • Applicants will be required to submit a recommendation letter, along with details of two more potential referees who can support your application
