Apply for the Newcastle University Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships to study in the UK. Newcastle University is pleased to announce applications for the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships (VCES) for international applicants from selected countries.

The scholarships are dedicated to international outstanding students applying to study for one of the postgraduate (full-time Master’s degree programme) at Newcastle University.

For the 2024 academic year, the university is offering up to 30 Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships (VCES) who meet the admission criteria to study for a Master’s degree programme. Applicants must prove previous academic excellence if they are to be considered for the scholarships

Benefits


If you are selected for the program, you will receive the following benefits

  • The university will be offering 2 scholarship type for 2 different categories
  • Applicants from countries that fall in category 1 will receive a 50% tuition fee scholarship
  • Candidates from countries that fall under category 2 will receive a 100% tuition fee scholarship.
  • There is a total of 30 scholarships worth 50% tuition fee waiver and 100% tuition fee waiver.

Eligibility


To be considered for one of these scholarships, you must meet teh scholarship eligiblility criteria

Requirements for the 50% scholarships

  • You must be a national of a country that falls under category 1 (please see full list here)
  • Candidates must be categorized as an international student for fee purposes
  • You must apply and receive an offer for one of the eligible Master’s degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2025/26 academic year
  • Applicants must also have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above

Requirements for the 100% scholarships

  • You must be a national of a country that falls under category 2 (Please see full list here)
  • As an applicants, you must be categorized as an international student for fee purposes
  • You must apply and receive an offer for one of the eligible Master’s degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2025/26 academic year
  • Applicants must also have achieved or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above

Please note: Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.

Application


Please remember that you can only apply and be considered for a scholarship only after you have applied and received an offer for a place to study for your chosen eligible Master’s course. Studies for the scholarship will be conducted at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2025/26 academic year

up on recipient of your offer, you must then complete the scholarship application form using the online portal provided. The application process will require you to fill information about you and your study history.

Applicants will also be required to answer several essay questions. These questions must be answered by the applicants, as they see fit. Please also note that application deadlines vary by country and by programme. You are therefore encouraged to submit your application as early as possible
